<p>On January 27, 2025, Indiana House Republicans rejected an amendment proposed by Democratic Representative Kyle Miller to remove cannabis from the state's Schedule I controlled substances list. The <a href="https://iga.in.gov/pdf-documents/124/2025/house/bills/HB1056/amendments/HB1056.02.COMH.AMH001.pdf">amendment</a>, attached to <a href="https://iga.in.gov/pdf-documents/124/2025/house/bills/HB1056/HB1056.02.COMH.pdf">House Bill 1056</a>, was ruled out of order along party lines, blocking further debate on marijuana legalization in the state.</p>
